-----------------------------------------------------

I am sure you are aware that every expansion has had different twists on mechanics, I have raided under KoS, EoF, RoK and TSO mechanics, but I have also gone back and killed large % of DoF and base release content, somewhere between 50 and 75% under EoF, RoK and TSO mechanics. I say this not to diminish accomplishments just to say TSO is what I feel is relevant now. VP used to mean something significant, it does not as much with TSO gear.

Prior to 2009 I had largely raided via pick up raids, I still remember doing DFC as 4x or was it 2x, I can't remember I do remember the lag being unreal in that zone :D on my Inquisitor back in the day. I'd say the only two raid guilds I did some regular raiding with on other characters were House Reamorda and Blood Rain. They will not know this characters name since I only recently started playing this toon more seriously. I could list a longer list of guild names, but half of them have long since folded over the years or I don't see those people on my friends lists any more, either they left the game or rerolled a long time ago.

I parted ways with Reamorda as the raid content was more progression based, they were too casual overall, more role play than raiding was a nice guild but not for me.

Blood Rain, I think their humor was of the variety of may cause physical pain (not because we were laugh so hard but it was so tasteless to me), otherwise I had no other reason to stop with them a few months back, they generally got stuff done provided people bothered to sign up and turn up, they had been stuck on Snake and Switch master in Potato for the longest time I think they only recently started clearing that content for the first 3 patterns more reliably in the last month or so.

So from what is relevant recent raid content wise, all of RoK cleared apart from Trakanon did a few pulls think its entirely doable if a bit annoying. Maestro done a few pulls, seems to be a silly encounter but doable with intelligent folks that play together, via pick up raids its more or less not possible yet. Not done any pulls on Byzola. Done the Kunark contesteds, the ones for casual guilds those Dommini.

From TSO I killed, TOMC including Thet, done a few pulls on Strange stalker in Yeksha many months ago while app'n to another guild but they had super late night raiding which was not working out for me otherwise it seemed to be the right guild apart from putting up with humor I did not enjoy. Potato killed the first named done a few pulls on a guild sponsored pick up raid, not sure what to call it, a half pick up raid? Looks like a fairly cake fight once everyone works out what they supposed to do and where to do it. Cleared all of WoE and done the first name in Kurns 2x too I think, certainly got a few good pulls in.

I have raided on a fair few classes beyond Templar, through different expansions and different servers, on the list are, Warlock, Defiler, Troubadour, Inquisitor, Guardian, Beszerker and Dirge. Some of these characters are perma mothballed till mechanics are changed for me to enjoy playing these classes again or there is not as much left to achieve on them and they have stagnated at the mercy of rng (I won't use the black market merchant unless I have to), I generally do not buy loot apart from masters from time to time, its more satisfying to have it drop and loot it for me. I am quoting my overall raiding experience, this toon has not done all those things, you could see that in a second with the achievement tab, however I have been MT defiler before for a long time so healing is not exactly new to me.

The number one thing that is more important to me with regards to raiding other than having the right people for the roles is that I get along with them, I seen too many raid guilds where the presence of a tool or two have soured the whole experience. I'm a guy that likes it moderately quiet, some inanity no problem, but recycling the same jokes/banter beyond the point of beating a dead horse is not preferable to silence in my book.

Generally you will never have me talking in vent unless I absolutely have to, I usually have music going here to make the too quiet parts not seem too dull, I usually type with incredibly poor spelling and grammar when in game, just too used to it I should check if my mic works it did 6 months ago, I been on a lot of raids in that time interval and never turned it on, have no reason to believe it won't still work, but its been packed away for a long time push comes to shove I guess I could buy pos cheapo one again.

As far as grouping goes, I usually like doing shard instances I am on a fair bit so, heck I been playing for years, its not got the new shine sheen to it all 11 months into the current expansion, but I will still run zones.

I think in closing, I'd have to say I only raid because its a good time sink, I gotten used to the boring parts of it, I stopped caring about loot a long time ago (as in why after thirty runs have I not got something shiny yet), so I am here for fun first and fore most and secondly I am tired of going looking for group or raid and then waiting almost as long for form up as it does to take the content, sometimes that is multiple times. I do not know if you have seen AB on bad days or bad times of day but sometimes a 15 min zone like DF takes an hour to find pick ups, same can be said of certain no non sense zones like POF and Guk 3, think in the case of Guk 3 most people don't find it fun just tedious and not a challenge any more.

Any how. Fin! I could write more but I don't think it would be interesting or relevant.
