Hmmm, lots of interesting stuff there.
"Would like to completely revamp Adornment system, but at the very least, new adornment recipes will be Transmuter-crafted only.
Players will be able to be a Tinkerer and Transmuter."
I like that idea... Being a transmuter isn't all that great when you still need all the other tradeskillers to craft the rest of the adornments.
"It is recognized that Curing is perhaps getting out-of-control. Casting time of individual cure potions may be considered. In addition, certain detriments are getting different effects on them such that curing that detriment can be worse than leaving it, or may cause another detriment to trigger. The intention was never to stare at the Profit Cure bar the entire fight."
I found this pretty funny though =D
Some Enchanter and Bard buffs will become raidwide or applicable to one person in each of the 4 groups. The example given was an illusionist giving Time Compression to one member of all 4 groups. Other buffs could go raidwide. This will be done in such way so that having 4 illusionists will not be a significant advantage over having 1 or 2.
Wow, this is kinda awesome, and kinda scary. It's gonna take a ton of balancing. Imagine, with 2 Illys, 2 Coercers, 2 Dirges, and 2 Troubadors on a raid, 8 people would have UT, 8 with BC, 8 with TC, and 8 with CH . It would be a beautiful thing though :D

Jay, per our conversation last night...
Looks like Feldon's notes were overtaken by his amusement:

Brenlo directly addressed Gage about rumors.
THAT was one of the times where Brenlo specifically said there WILL be contested end-game raid targets. They won't be the current avatars but there will be "contesteds".
There were a few other times at Fan Faire it was confirmed, too, that there WILL be contested end-game raid encounters. At least one of those times was in a Community Summit related NDA session, so I can't really say more on details from that (unless specifics were mentioned publically otherwise).
(And a few other times it was directly mentioned that Gage hasn't been right about some of his other declarations and pronouncements, too.)

It already sounds balanced, apart from the fact you still have one in six classes taking up one third of the raid spots if your example leads to max dps. It probably won't though since CH is only good for healers, 8 healer raid has got to suck if survivability is just that bad to necessitate that, TC and UT can not be stacked so to get the most of that you'd need 16 'dps' mages (insert hybrid class with awesome dot/spell dmg potential) in a raid, BC guess you need six to eight scouts, so grats on making a 34 man raid, two spots for tanks at least, maybe we can call it a 36 man raid since EQ2 has a 6 man fetish for groups. :D
The only way it would be 'fair' to all classes is if they smashed class dependency just like they smashed crafter interdependency (i.e. classes no longer buff each other they just achieve max solo no matter who is in group/raid), but that's a whole load of ceaseless emo-rage sessions on the forums no doubt probably hear the screams of NGE well after they release EQ4000 in the year 2525, even if it was not Sony running the show on that one.;)

As a continuance from this.. Today on the SOE board:

We are definitely not phasing out the "hardcore" playstyle. I can't go into a lot of detail about the upcoming expansion, but I can clarify several of your questions:
There are no plans to create more x2s than x4s in Sentinel's Fate.
There will be contested epic mobs.
Things such as x2's and encounters with multiple difficulty levels offer a challenge to a wider range of players, and help smooth the progression from solo/group play to our challenging raids. They do not supplant the content, nor is that their intent.
